About 

The 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a combat-proven formation established in 2014 during the initial phase of the conflict in eastern Ukraine. Created as part of a broader effort to rebuild and expand the Ukrainian military, the brigade was formed using a combination of experienced personnel and newly mobilized troops. Over time, it has developed into a capable and resilient mechanized unit, actively participating in key operations since 2014 and continuing to play an important role during the full-scale invasion. As a mechanized brigade, it integrates infantry, armored vehicles, and artillery into a cohesive force designed for both defensive and offensive operations across varied and demanding battlefield conditions.

The brigade is commanded by Oleksii Trubnikov, under whose leadership it continues to maintain operational effectiveness and adaptability in modern combat. Throughout its service, the brigade has built a reputation for discipline, coordination, and the ability to operate in some of the most contested sectors of the front. Its experience gained over years of continuous engagement has contributed to strong unit cohesion and a high level of combat readiness.

In line with the evolving nature of warfare, the 14th Mechanized Brigade has integrated unmanned aerial systems into its operational framework as a key component of its combat capabilities. The brigade employs reconnaissance drones to monitor enemy activity, gather real-time intelligence, and support accurate artillery targeting. Additionally, strike UAVs are used to engage enemy positions, equipment, and logistics with precision, enhancing the efficiency of combat operations while reducing risks to personnel. This emphasis on drone usage significantly improves situational awareness and coordination on the battlefield, allowing the brigade to remain an effective and modernized force within Ukraine’s armed forces.
