About

The 32nd Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a modern combat formation established in 2023 as part of the country’s large-scale military expansion during the full-scale war. As a newly formed unit, the brigade was built to meet the demands of contemporary high-intensity conflict, combining mechanized infantry, armored vehicles, and artillery into a flexible and responsive force. Despite its recent creation, it has been rapidly integrated into frontline operations, drawing on a mix of experienced veterans and newly trained personnel to form a cohesive and capable fighting unit.

The brigade is commanded by Dmytro Lysiuk, under whose leadership it has developed its operational structure and combat effectiveness. Like other newly established brigades, it has focused on accelerated training, coordination between different combat elements, and adaptation to the evolving realities of the battlefield. This has allowed the unit to quickly transition from formation to active deployment while maintaining a growing level of professionalism and cohesion.

A key component of the 32nd Mechanized Brigade’s operational capability is its integration of unmanned aerial systems into daily combat activities. The brigade активно utilizes reconnaissance drones to gather real-time intelligence, monitor enemy positions, and support artillery targeting with improved accuracy. In addition, strike UAVs are employed to engage enemy forces, equipment, and defensive positions, enhancing the brigade’s ability to conduct precise and efficient operations. This emphasis on drone warfare significantly increases situational awareness and coordination, making UAV usage a central element of the brigade’s approach to modern mechanized combat.
