The 413th Unmanned Systems Regiment “RAID” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a specialized formation dedicated to drone warfare, established in 2024 during the rapid expansion of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces. Originally formed as a battalion, the unit demonstrated significant operational effectiveness and was subsequently expanded into a regiment-level formation, reflecting the growing importance of unmanned systems in modern combat. Unlike traditional units, “RAID” is structured around technological capability, precision strike potential, and continuous battlefield surveillance, making it a key element in Ukraine’s evolving military doctrine.

The regiment is commanded by Yevhen Karas, under whose leadership it has developed into a highly capable and adaptive force. The unit brings together skilled UAV operators, engineers, analysts, and support personnel, enabling it to conduct complex operations that rely on coordination, real-time intelligence, and rapid execution. Drone usage is the central pillar of the 413th “RAID” Regiment’s operational concept.
