The 82nd Separate Air Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is a modern, high-mobility combat formation established in 2023 as part of the expansion of Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces during the full-scale war. Designed for rapid deployment and offensive maneuver operations, the brigade specializes in conducting assaults, reinforcing critical sectors, and exploiting breakthroughs in enemy defenses. As an air assault unit, it emphasizes speed, flexibility, and coordination, allowing it to operate effectively in dynamic and high-intensity combat environments. The brigade has also gained recognition for utilizing modern, Western-supplied equipment, further enhancing its combat capabilities.

The brigade is commanded by Dmytro Voloshyn, under whose leadership it has developed into a capable and adaptive force despite its relatively recent formation. Built from a combination of experienced personnel and newly trained soldiers, the unit has focused on achieving a high level of readiness through intensive training and operational integration.
