About

The 39th Brigade Drone School is a specialized UAV training program operating within the recruitment and training structure of the 39th Separate Coastal Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Established as part of the broader effort to integrate unmanned systems into frontline operations, the school is designed to prepare new recruits and personnel for effective deployment as drone operators. It serves as both a training pipeline and an entry point into military service, reflecting the growing importance of UAV capabilities in modern warfare.

The program operates within a military framework, relying on experienced instructors with frontline combat backgrounds who adapt training methods to current battlefield conditions. Its structure emphasizes rapid preparation and practical skill development, allowing trainees to acquire operational competence in a relatively short period. The training process combines theoretical instruction with simulator exercises and real drone flights, ensuring that participants gain hands-on experience aligned with real-world combat scenarios.

Drone usage is central to the school’s curriculum and mission. Trainees are taught to operate reconnaissance UAVs for surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordination with artillery and ground units. In addition, the program includes training on strike drones, particularly FPV systems, used for precision engagement of enemy targets. Participants also learn to operate in environments affected by electronic warfare and are introduced to basic technical aspects such as drone setup and maintenance. Through this focused and combat-oriented approach, the 39th Brigade Drone School contributes to the development of skilled operators capable of effectively employing unmanned systems in modern, technology-driven military operations.
