The UA Drone School is a Ukrainian training initiative established in April 2022 in response to the urgent demand for skilled drone operators during the early stages of the full-scale invasion. Created as a project within the broader Army of Drones ecosystem, the school focuses on rapidly preparing both military personnel and civilians for effective UAV operations. Its programs are designed to deliver practical, battlefield-relevant skills in a short timeframe, reflecting the need for fast adaptation in modern, technology-driven warfare.

Unlike traditional educational institutions, UA Drone School operates with a flexible and mission-oriented structure, relying on experienced instructors from both military and civilian backgrounds. Its training format emphasizes intensive, hands-on learning, combining theoretical instruction with simulator work and real flight practice. This approach allows participants to quickly gain the competencies required for real-world deployment, ensuring that graduates can integrate into operational units with minimal delay.

Drone usage is at the core of the school’s training doctrine. Participants are taught to operate reconnaissance UAVs for intelligence gathering, surveillance, and artillery adjustment, as well as strike drones used for engaging enemy equipment and personnel. The curriculum also includes mission planning, target acquisition, and coordination with other combat elements, reflecting the realities of modern battlefield operations. By focusing on both technical proficiency and tactical application, UA Drone School plays a significant role in strengthening Ukraine’s unmanned capabilities and supporting the development of a highly adaptable, technology-oriented force.
