Wild Hornets

About

Wild Hornets is a Ukrainian miltech and volunteer drone organization founded in spring 2023. It develops and mass-produces FPV, kamikaze, reconnaissance, and anti-air drones for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, along with ground control stations, batteries, and support equipment. Flagship platforms include the Queen Hornet bomber drone and the Sting interceptor; operations are largely donation-funded and focused on rapid production and frontline deployment.

Details

The systems include:

• Queen Hornet (bomber) — small loitering/kamikaze UAV built for precision strike; modular warhead options, short launch-to-impact cycle, optimized for quick frontline deployment.
• Sting (interceptor) — light interceptor drone intended to engage loitering threats (e.g., Shahed-style); high-speed approach, explosive or impact-based takedown.
• FPV strike drones — agile first-person-view platforms for close-range attack runs; manually piloted for fast target acquisition and high hit probability.
• Reconnaissance mini-UAVs — lightweight quad/wing drones for short- to medium-range ISR; carry EO/IR cameras and real-time video link for observers.
• Ground control stations (GCS) — portable operator stations for mission planning, manual control, and live telemetry/video reception.
• Power and battery modules — field-replaceable battery packs and charging systems designed for high cycle life and rapid swap in combat conditions.
• Launch and support equipment — rails/portable catapults, transport cases, spares kits, and simple maintenance tools for fast turnarounds.
• Software & mission tools — basic mission-planning, telemetry monitoring, and target-marking utilities integrated with their GCS and video feeds.
